With the Super Eagles camp opening on Monday, Super Eagles
defender Solomon Kwambe says he can’t wait to return to the national team fold
ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania and the 2016
CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso.
Kwambe, who is one of the 23 home based players invited to
camp by coach Sunday Oliseh, says he and his teammates will have to work harder
to ensure Nigeria does not fail to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations again.
“I can’t wait to return to the national team camp and I
can’t wait to see the guys (Super Eagles teammates),” he said.
“It is going to be serious business because we have to work
harder to ensure we qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations because we
cannot afford not to qualify like the last time.”
The Warri Wolves defender also admitted that he is looking
forward to working with Sunday Oliseh, who takes charge of the team for the
first time since his appointment.
“I’m also looking forward to working with the new coach and
hopefully we will achieve good things together,” he added.
