Kelechi Iheanacho was in the starting lineup when Manchester
City defeated Sunderland 1-0 in the English Premier League on Tuesday night.
Manuel Pellegrini deemed the Nigerian fit for a starter’s
shirt after his hat-trick against Aston Villa in an FA Cup tie at the weekend.
Iheanacho played for 46 minutes before he was substituted
for Fernando.
Manchester City responded to the news of manager Manuel
Pellegrini's summer departure with a hard-earned win over Sunderland at the
Stadium of Light.
Pellegrini - who will be replaced by Pep Guardiola - saw
Sergio Aguero gather a deflected cross to coolly finish with the outside of his
foot.
On Monday, Pellegrini included Iheanacho in the squad for
the UEFA Champions League tie against Dynamo Kiev on February 24 in Ukraine.
