Former Super Eagles striker Shola Ameobi has joined League
One side Fleetwood till the end of the season.
Ameobi was released by Bolton Wonderers last month as they
were unable to offer him a new deal due to their financial problems.
He is available for Fleetwood's game at Port Vale on
Saturday.
"We certainly couldn't get any more experience than
Shola and we are absolutely delighted with that," manager Steven Pressley
told the club website.
Shola Ameobi spent 14 years at Newcastle United, where he
received a winner's medal in 2010 when Newcastle lifted the Championship
trophy. He holds the record for the most appearances as a substitute in the
Premier League.
On leaving Newcastle in 2014, he briefly represented
Gaziantep BB in Turkey and back in England with Crystal Palace before joining
Bolton.
